What you’ll do
Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - Cloud Containerization Developer
In this position you will:
- Learn and utilize the latest cloud technologies
- Use cloud technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Develop software using languages such as Python, Go, and shell scripts
- Be mentored by an experienced supervisor who wants to help you learn, grow, and succeed
What you bring
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Successful applicants will have an exceptional ability to learn and the motivation to excel in software design, implementation, and testing.
The following qualifications are required:
- Strong programming skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Overall average of at least 80%
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
The following are not required but would be valuable:
- Work experience at a software development company
- Knowledge of Python, Go, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Experience working in a Linux development environment
- Experience working on a cloud software project
- Experience writing tests
- Significant hobby programming
Meet your team
SAP is a world leader in Database and Data Analytics technologies. Our cloud-based services are used by some of the world’s largest enterprises, and they underlie an ecosystem of applications that help customers work better in many industries and research areas. Come join our SAP Data Lake Container team. Our team is responsible for containerizing the database product and preparing it for deployment to cloud environments. You’ll use a variety of programming tools, including Python, Go, and Unix shell scripting, to automate the creation of Docker containers and expose new features. You’ll also participate in refactoring the containers to enhance modularity and maintainability.
You’ll gain experience with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes when you use them to deploy and manage containers in the cloud. If you are curious about cloud technologies and want to learn about Docker and software containerization, then this is the opportunity for you. We are dedicated to supporting your learning and skill development through strong mentorship. Your supervisors will be seasoned software developers committed to providing you with the guidance you need to thrive, while empowering you to reach your full potential.
